Our thoughts, exactly.
So, you don’t get fat in one meal? Great news; however, it also means you have to keep at it… that is if you want to get fat—and that’s precisely what we want to do here at FERMAT. Get fat on China.
With that in mind, recently we sent Ms. Lintian Xia (a.k.a. Lenka) FERMAT’s sales manager for China and Mr. Lubos Janousek, PRESSL’s sales director with over 20 years’ experience in the Chinese market, to The Red Dragon to visit both current and potential customers interested in FERMAT’s powerful and precise machine tools and accessories. In addition, FERMAT’s Czech-Chinese combo met new dealers offering to represent FERMAT’s expanding line of horizontal boring mills, bridge mills, cylindrical grinders, gantries, and vertical turning machines.
And, of course, they ate lots of food.
Like most active and inquisitive FERMAT sales team members when on a working vacation and a company credit card, they also went shopping and sightseeing. (Lenka’s shown below in her new yellow outfit.)
In between feasting, shopping, and strolling around Beijing, Ms. Xia and Mr. Janousek toured factories in the city, as well as manufacturing facilities dotted all across the provinces of China. They found that the demand for FERMAT’s top-selling table-type horizontal boring mills, WFT 11 CNC and WFT 13 CNC, is very strong. Production is humming.
With the Chinese economy maturing, its need for powerful and precise modern machine tools increases each year. The sheer volume of its industrial production as measured by the output of businesses integrated in the industrial sector of the economy, such as manufacturing, mining, and utilities (sectors reliant on machine tools), albeit not skyrocketing compared to years past, is still mind-boggling. It absolutely dwarfs many other countries, even continents.
While the land is jam-packed with ardent factory workers making about everything imaginable, with the population of its cities greater than that of entire countries, it’s good to see there’s still room to grow—and horizontal boring mills to sell. FERMAT’s eagle-eyed wanderers of the Far East surreptitiously snapped this photo of China’s industry on the move, proving The Red Dragon could use a lot more production orders, and a new set of wheels.

Hauling empty output in a shiny new factory built for tomorrow’s customers. The thinking of command economies.
