FERMAT to Feature in Nordmark’s Open House, 30 June 2016, Saeby, Denmark

June 14, 2016

After many years of seaside leisure, fishing, sailing around and occasionally plundering coastal settlements of Britain, the Danes found raiding to be rather boring and decided to give all-out conquering a try.  Besides, they had visited the neighborhood many times, liked it, and decided it was the right time to move in.  So in 865, the Great Heathen Army (as it was affectionately termed in Old English) appeared in East Anglia and went on a rampage.  Under the management of two forward-looking Danish entrepreneurs, Halfdan Ragnarsson and Ivar the Boneless, they laid waste to the countryside and subdued many kingdoms. Apart from annihilating the inhabitants, they also beat Edmund, King of East Anglia, shot him with arrows and finally beheaded him, despite the fact he had given them horses to trample Northumbria.

Feeling a tad embarrassed about such behavior, Nordmark, the juggernaut of Jutland, the inspiring stronghold of Denmark driving Danish developments in high precision CNC machining and massive manufacturing, will host a light-hearted and affable get-together, a jovial open house with its commercial partners and friends, 1,151 years after their forefathers launched their ‘hostile takeover.’  On 30 June 2016, Nordmark will open the doors of its brand-new, bright-and-shiny, jaw-dropping jet-black machine shop that’s been 12 months in the making.

A year ago, the seeds were planted for two of FERMAT’s most-mammoth horizontal boring mills, Titanic twins born in the industrial rage of FERMAT’s WRF 160 Heavy CNC series, to grow tall and tower over Nordmark’s ever-increasing production needs.  FERMAT will attend the open house, enjoying the fine hospitality of its hosts; and, after light snacks, drinks and a little music, it will start the engines and let it rip, demonstrating the power and precision of its two gigantic floor-type horizontal boring mills to the awe and admiration of all attendees.
