FERMAT’s Own Machine Diagnostics Software Eliminates the Gremlins

October 31, 2016

FERMAT’s hardworking and crafty PLC programmers have created new software specially designed to monitor the internal operations of FERMAT horizontal boring mills using FANUC control systems.  The application allows machine operators, quickly and easily, to analyze the unseen functions and identify any problems.  This trusty new piece of computer kit keeps the gremlins from growing, letting machinists kill malfunctions in the cradle.

Through easy-to-read screens, the machine operator stays on top the situation, seeing the current state of the machine in a user-friendly interface.  In addition, thanks to the fact the application is accessible over the Internet, FERMAT’s technicians can view the problems too and discuss which repairs might be needed with the manufacturer.

This unique, custom-built software monitors the horizontal boring mill’s spindle, the temperature of its bearings, its coolant system, its automatic tool changer, robot, chip conveyor, hydraulics and lubrication aggregates, as well as its automatic milling head.
