EMO is one of the premier European metalworking trade shows. It’s held on every odd-numbered year (e.g., 2017) with an interesting tripart cycle: 2 shows back-to-back at the Hannover Fairground in Hannover, Germany, and 1 show at the Fiera Milano exhibition center in Milan, Italy. The acronym comes from Exposition Mondiale de la Machine-Outil (Machine Tool World Exposition). The trade fair covers a wide range of metalworking technologies, from machine tools and accessories and high-precision measuring tools to manufacturing systems and related computer technologies.
EMO is run by CECIMO, Comité européen de coopération des industries de la machine-outil (the European Association of the Machine Tool Industries). While CECIMO calls the shots, the VDW, Verein Deutscher Werkzeugmaschinenfabriken (German Machine Tool Builders’ Association) organizes the event in Hannover and the UCIMU, Unione Costruttori Italiani Macchine Utensili (Association of Italian Manufacturers of Machine Tools) manages the show in Milan.
As stated on EMO Hannover’s official website, the metalworking trade fair is quite an event:
Exhibitors come to EMO Hannover from all over the world and from all segments of metalworking technology. With approximately 60% of exhibitors from outside of Germany, EMO Hannover is the world’s most international trade fair for metalworking. Experts from the industry know and recognise that fact – which is another reason why no other trade fair can match the international character of EMO Hannover’s visiting public.
EMO Hannover’s exhibitors have long since aligned their innovation cycles to the world’s leading trade fair for metalworking. As a result, more innovations are unveiled here than at any other trade fair in the industry – which in turn makes EMO Hannover a key point of reference for the decision makers in the production technology segment.
FERMAT’s exhibition in Hall 13, stand C01
Modern metalworking manufacturers have every reason to visit EMO, and they have even better reasons to visit FERMAT’s outstanding machine tool exhibition in Hall 13, stand C01. Not only will they come face-to-face with FERMAT’s most dynamic sales team ready to strike a deal, but they’ll see for themselves FERMAT’s most popular table-type horizontal boring mill WFT 13 R CNC, with a KUKA robot tool changer, and also FERMAT’s ingenious crosswise table-type horizontal boring mill WFC 10 CNC with a state-of-the-art universal automatic milling head (UHAmi). Both machines debut in their most modern design, with key enhancements facilitating even more efficient machining and better production.
