Earlier this month, Mr. Jan Kropacek, FERMAT’s sales manager for South Africa, enjoyed a wonderful working vacation in the Rainbow Nation, visiting FERMAT’s customer Bell Equipment, a major manufacturer of mining, construction, agricultural, forestry, and material handling equipment.
W. D. Hearn, FERMAT’s dealer and local service partner in South Africa, helped facilitate the sale.
The brand-new machine ought to be on the spot in May, in the city of Richards Bay
Last week, representatives from Bell Equipment came to Brno for pre-acceptance of their WFT 11 CNC. Along with the other advantages of FERMAT’s most popular line of table-type horizontal boring mills, this particular machine’s accessories include FERMAT Speed Clamps. Thanks to these, while one workpiece is machined on a pallet firmly clamped onto the table top by means of the zero-point system, another workpiece can be prepared and mounted on a separate pallet. Once the first workpiece is finished, the pallets are quickly and easily swapped out, and manufacturing continues at a fine clip, eliminating wasteful downtime.
Another specialty of FERMAT’s innovation team enhancing this WFT 11 CNC is FERMAT’s robotic tool storage system designed for the optimum performance of its KUKA robot tool changer. This new zigzag configuration allows for 96 tools, many longer and heavier, to be exchanged even faster than before.
A smaller version of FERMAT’s best-selling WFT 13 CNC, WFT 11 CNC is a rugged and solidly-built table-type horizontal boring mill ideal for machining workpieces weighing up to 10 metric tons. This machine comes equipped with a FANUC control system, 730 mm spindle travel, and all the power and precision of FERMAT machine tools.
Always congenial and convincing in conversation, Mr. Kropacek was quick to make a new friend, whom he took under his wing and introduced to the amazing world of modern machine tools.
