What’s in a name? that which we call a German company By any other name would smell as sweet (so long as it’s in the Handelsregister)

On 24 February 2016, Jan Ferenc, Sales Director at FERMAT Machinery, packed his lunch and took a delightful excursion to Germany to spend a very pleasant day in the Bavarian town of Regensburg.  After a brief time sightseeing, admiring the historical grandeur of such an important crossroads of culture and commerce, he made his way to the local notary public to do his part in fostering German economic growth and trade.

He was in town to register the name of FERMAT’s new branch in Germany, FERMAT Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH, entering it in the Handelsregister (commercial register) as a newly-minted, proudly Teutonic, German entity, ensuring it full legal status in the Federal Republic of Germany, with all the bells and whistles.

Its forerunner, Fermat Service Zentrum Chemnitz GmbH (FSZ), was a very limited setup focusing on supplying parts for existing FERMAT customers and similar types of service support.

By contrast, FERMAT’s new branch, FERMAT Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH, is a full-fledged operation, one assuming complete responsibility for sales, marketing, and customer support for the German market.  Though its registered seat is in Chemnitz, Germany, it would be glad to handle enquiries in German from any and all potential customers regardless of their location.  Sprechen Sie deutsch?  Give them a call.

Excellent contact:  Mr. Kai Forster, FERMAT’s Area Sales Manager for the German market, and head of the branch, has over 20 years’ experience in machine tools/horizontal boring mills.  Tel: +49 371 65 113 960; e-mail: kai.foerster@fermat.de
